What neXt?

Από το OFFF2005 της Βαρκελώνης η παρουσίαση της Carole Guevin (communication designer, new media pioneer, φιλόσοφος, είναι ένα από τα ονόματα που κρύβονται πίσω από το project LABEL και δημιουργός του media design portal NETDIVER), "What's neXt?"

The FUTURE is unstable so . . .
Everybody talks about it.

The web is yet to come? Will the Internet of the future just be enhanced television with 'buy-now' features ? Is it destined to become no more than another leisure and commerce medium, or can it be steered away from this fate by DESIGNERS, taking it to surprising new directions?

I believe we are still in emergent stages and so much needs to be explored, tackled, questioned and implemented. It is a time of great opportunities and discoveries since I think the web is the greatest gift awarded humanity.

Never before was it possible to exchange knowledge the world around. Never before was it possible to seed and foster change the world around. Never before was it possible to feel the communal bond that is our humanity, the world around.

The world is in our backyard . . .
so let's stop throwing garbage in it.

WARS = Starvation

How can design feed the world; the ideological wars we don't want to fight.
End poverty?

Designers save the earth. Designers actually have more potencial to slow environmental degradation than economists, politicians, businesses & environmentalists.
The power of designers is catalyctic.
